Your going to be bottlenecked hard bro I'll give it to you straight. Buying a 650 would be a waste of money and is better spent changing out your processor first. That's basically a Tablet APU. Will you be able to play borderlands? Sure. Just don't hope for anything above Low w/o that processor taking the system down with it.

Would I be ok with the Triple core A6-3500?

You cannot run Borderlands 2 at all with that hardware because it fails the minimum requirements. The CPU fails the minimum and the GTX 650 passes the minimum but fails the recommended requirements.

You can run Hawken but not on high settings because you pass the minimum requirements but fail the recommended requirements.

Upgrading to the A6 3500 will help a great deal. If you insist on upgrading to that then Also get a GTX 650 ti Boost. That's your best option for that CPU. The GTX 650 non ti version will actually bottleneck an A6 3500.

No You're wrong right there. The A6 3500 is actually about 20% faster than the i5 3317u in 3Dmark11. And in the best case scenario for the Core i5 3317u vs the A6 3500 the i5 3317u is only 15% faster. I'd say there's not going to be much difference between those CPU's while gaming. The GTX 650 Ti and the A6 3500 can run 100% of games going by minimum requirements and 78% of games by recommended requirements. While the E2 3200 can only play 50% of games at minimum requirements. Seems like a good upgrade from the previous CPU.
