Last week i built my first computer and i am watching the apu temp and it is reaching about 50c idle. i am worried that something is wrong with the heatsink. the motherboard is about 30-33 idle. tell me what you think.

AMD stock cooler is bad, however it can spin to very high RPM like ~3000 making alot of noise, thats why ppl hate it, however that fast speed should make your setup alot cooler.

Please try alternative sensors :

speccy
hw monitor
CPU-z
BIOS

And make sure, then please make sure you assembled the computer parts properly especially the cooler and thermal paste area.

I dont belive 50C idle is normal, not unless you live in Africa, cause that means at load it uses ~70C - 80C

Are you overclocking ? if so then this is okay/

Make sure the CPU power saving tech are enabled, and your CPU should go down to 1400Mhz or something when its idle is that so ? does it still be 50c cause to me thats abit too much

Make sure you CPU fan header is attached to 4 PWm header and 3 PWM header

I built my first comp 3 months ago and also have a 5800k, I have it overclocked to 4300mhz depending on the time I have seen my idle temp between 28c at night to 36c on a 100f day. Under load with witcher 2 and skyrim I have never hit 50c. My motherboard hovers around 22-30c. My cooling setup is a coolermaster hyper 212 evo, two two megaflow 200mm fans one in front and one at the top and I have two 120mm fans that came with my case one in the back and one on the side.

The A10 5800K shows false temps, right now HWMonitor says that my CPUs Max package temp is 107C....
Install HWMonitor and look at Temperatures and there is CPU, This is much closer to the real Heat.
