say you don't already have a laptop, you want to get one but you cant spend $1000+ on just the laptop because you need some money leftover for the games and accessories.
BTW I'm the one in this boat so it'll be good to see some opinions... what would you get?

More about : 1000 gaming laptop games accessories

Then I'd realize that getting a laptop is ultimately silly if it's meant for gaming, as it's overpriced and go for a desktop.

I'd then come to further realize that perhaps if I place my bets on the right components such as a high-end Radeon card,

that I could net a few games at the same time too.

Seriously, does it have to be a laptop? Really? And what games are you wanting to play.

Ya, sorry but any laptop with enough power to game is just ridiculously expensive. You might get an everyday model that can dabble in games but nothing that can run even mid-grade at 40-60fps consistently.

However you might be able to swing a micro-desk unit... But then even those start to get pricy just from the darn cases. But 'desktops' do not have to be massive towers from hell. Heck they don't even have to be much bigger then a laptop for that matter. I've got 4 HTPCs in the house, all but one are reasonable gaming grade rigs (true GPUs, etc) and no larger then an old set-top VCR. And I could build it smaller if I wanted to (but it would cost more...). Desktop doesn't have to mean enormous... Just means you can buy your parts and control the costs...
