Based on recommendations on this site and around the web, I will probably be building a system somewhere along the lines of the following:

MB Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3
HD Caviar GP/1TB SATA 3 7200rpm 64MB
AMD Black Edition AMD FX 4300 / 3.8 GHz Processor
Sapphire RADEON HD 7750
Kingston HyperX 2 x 4 GB
Zalman ZM-T2
Corsair cx 430

The intention is for a strong workstation pc, with enough power for some light gaming / light video / photo work.

Does anyone have any comments? For aesthetic reasons I am going for a small-ish for factor, so it will probably have to be a micro-atx board.

Thanks in advance for you help, it is much appreciated.

Suggest you get an actual 7200RPM drive - IIRC the Green Power ones were an undisclosed speed "up to" 7200, and various people looked at sound and speed and decided they were 5400RPM.

Get the FX-6300, or 6350 if your board can handle 125W chips.
