Motherboard problem please help.

Yesterday I was putting in my CPU fan and I bumped something on my motherboard and my computer randomly shut off. Now when I try to turn my computer on a all it does is the CPU fan speeds up continulessly and my mouse led is on. Every thing seems to be fine but my monitor does nothing. I have cleaned the RAM and unplugged and replugged the hard drive and monitor cord. Someone please help.

I question why you were putting on a CPU fan while it was running...

A clarification of the situation around the failure might help, because if there was no heatsink on CPU while it was running there is every possibility you burnt out the chip.
