So very first step to fix it is have someone who is qualified to work on laptops replace the CMOS battery for you. Here is the service manual for your laptop ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/inspiron-15r-n5110_Service%20Manual_en-us.pdf The info you need is located starting on page 61 If changing the battery does not fix it, the problem is then most likely the motherboard.
