So I was wondering, if I was to make a gamping computer which graphics card would be better? GeForce GTX 660 Ti or Radeon HD 7950?

i5 3570k $219.99

P8Z77-V LK - LGA 1155 - Intel Z77 - ATX $134.99

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) $114.99

SeaSonic M12II 620 Bronze Certified ATX/EPS Modular PSU $89.99

Western Digital 500 GB Caviar Blue $59.99

Crucial M4 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive $144.99

ASUS 24X DVD Burner $17.99

first off, you can get the 3570k for about $205, a z77 for $105, a 2tb mechanical hd for about $75, and a well rated 120gb ssd for about $90, and a 550-650w power supply for about $60, and 16gb ram is unnecessary, 8gb 1600 cas9 for $45, your case shouldnt be more than $50.

the 7950 slightly more power stock which is going to be hard to notice, but overclocks easily to 1100 and is generally a few frames ahead of an overclocked 660ti. the real advantage is the 3gb of much better vram that the 7950 has. if you can wait a month, let nvidia release their 7xx cards and you should see a drop in price for both the 7950 and 660ti

Thanks! Also, could you please post where you found the prices lower?

You could review the Tom's Hardware Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart from Spring 2013, and then you could also check out the first page from the GTX 780 review where it states that the 7970 has gotten substantially faster than when it came out due to driver fixes that place it above the GTX 680. That improvement happened across the board for all 7000 series GPU's from AMD.... I recommend the 7870 GHz Edition myself as it is less expensive than the 7950 with performance just under it and still far exceeding the 660 Ti since driver updates....

Well if it wasn't compatible it wouldn't be popular though I do recommend against pairing Intel processors with ATi cards, in your case it makes more sense, I suppose. Though you could pick up an FX-8350 Black Edition for $20 less....

I think ill stick with the I5 3570k, as I've read that it's better for gaming computers.

Where did you get that idea? AMD cards perform better on Intel if anything...mostly because Intel is faster. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/crossfire-sli-scaling-bottleneck,3471.html

Why would AMD cards perform better on AMD CPU's than Intel?
