Did you reboot because it told you so or because the system was hung?

Because it told me to reboot. Before reboot everything was fine. :'(

Disconnect the laptop and remove the battery for a few minutes to see if it resets it. If not, then contact Asus support and explain why you had to flash the BIOS and ask them what steps are required to resolve the issue. There'a always a risk when flashing the BIOS.

CMOS battery. Remove it, wait for 5 minutes, then restart the laptop.

Another option......... do you have ran the repair utility, it works sometimes.

Laptop and CMOS battery; removing only the CMOS battery doesn't always work on a laptop.

@ AcapIsmail ...........Most mobo manufacturers keep an archive of older BIOS versions. Check the manufacture's website.

If you can't fix it by yourself and it's urgent, then you'll have to contact Asus. Why did you flash the BIOS? What was the issue?

I flash it because it won't detect my graphic card. I read at some blog they say to flash it. I dont know it turn out like this.

I don't understand how flashing the BIOS will resolve a graphics card detection issue. How did you get a display if the GPU wasn't detected?
May 29, 2013 5:23:28 PM

My laptop is like it didnt have install graphic driver. When i install the graphic driver it says no graphic card.

Was the graphics card detected in Device Manager? I presume that you are referring to a GPU that was added and not the onboard graphics controller.

Device manager not detect tge graphic card. Its like when u format your laptop there no driver for graphic card. The screen goes big. How?

If the screen resolution was 800 x 600 (or whatever resolution made the characters quite big), then the graphics controller was working. If I understand your posts, the original issue was that you couldn't install the drivers because the graphics controller wasn't detected. Is that correct? Are you absolutely positive that you tried to install the correct drivers for your OS?

If the BIOS is corrupted, all you can do is contact Asus support (they may know how to fix it), get a replacement motherboard or a BIOS chip (if it isn't soldered on the motherboard). I'm still not convinced that flashing the BIOS would have resolved the original issue.

Hmm. So theres no other way to recover back my old BIOS? Why the screen blank if the BIOS corrupted?

The screen is blank because the BIOS is the software that ties the motherboard, CPU, display, etc.

If you followed the BIOS flash procedure on page A-12 (flashing from Windows is too risky) of user manual http://www.manualowl.com/m/Asus/A53SM/Manual/261328, installed the correct BIOS file and you didn't miss step 5, then bring the laptop back to an authorized service center.

Asus can't blame you for flashing the BIOS as they recommend that solution in their user manual.

Ok. Now i understand. Thanks for the information. I will send my laptop to the asus center. Thanks again. :-)
