I have a sabertooth 990FX ( NOT THE REV 2.0!!! ) http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_990FX/#support_CPU

As you can see in the CPU support list only the amd FX-8320 (FD8320FRW8KHK) shows. But after reading in a couple of sites I learned that the FD8320FRHKBOX and FD8320FRW8KHK are the same CPU model, (http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series%20FX-8320.html)

I contacted asus to ask if this other CPU is compatible but they told me that it wasn't. I get the feeling that the support rep just eyed-balled the cpu support list and as he didn't see the FD8320FRHKBOX and just told me "no".

Just wanted a to make sure here that it wasnt, because I can only buy the FD8320FRHKBOX version. And I also saw a bundle sold online that included the sabertooth 990fx with amd FX-8320 FD8320FRHKBOX. So I am really confused right now.

I'd appreciate any advice!
Thanks in advance!

The difference is that one is OEM and one is box.

One is store-bought for custom computers, comes in it's own box, standalone. That's the one you can get.
OEM is one that comes inside a prebuilt computer, doesnt come with it's own box. Manufactured to different standards. This is the one you cannot get unless you're an OEM manufacturer.

The 990FX doesnt come in any prebuilts last I checked, and selling a motherboard that doesnt have support for boxed CPUs makes 0 sense.

Your mobo supports your FX 8350.

Just to clarify to anyone who have this question and reads this. The actual model number printed in the CPU itself is FD8320FRW8KHK, The other model number is only printed in the box that the CPU and CPU fan came in. So if you want really make sure and you can see the actual CPU just visit the store and compare the CPU model number printed in the CPU not the CPU BOX!
