computer is recognising different ammounts of ram

hey guys im relatively new to this so please bear with me.
I have a asus p6T motherboard, with intel i7 930 at 2.8ghz. 6gb of ram and a nvidia gts250 1gb graphics card.
the problem i am having is everytime i boot my pc it says different ammounts of ram, either the full 6gb, or 4gb. it says this on both wes and cpu-z .
i have tried looking for a bios update the only ones i can find and have tried regarding memory i get the message of - selected rom file is older than existing. could it be any other issue? i have 6gb of corsair 1600mhz ram.

Hi,

Try updating the BIOS to the latest version or reflash the same BIOS version again and see if that helps.

really reflashing to the same version could fix it? ( its at the highest version of 1408 at the minute*)
