i have another question on this. when i play arma 3 on high it goes up to 47 degrees celsius. and when i play black ops 2 on low it goes up to 47 degrees celsius. i want to know why. the temperature increase doesnt change if i play on low or high. it always goes up to 47 degrees celsius. then increase to 48 after about 1 hour of gaming.

I overclocked my GPU a few weeks back and now when its running on 100% it goes up to about 47 degrees celsius. i don't know what is a safe temperature for this type of graphics card. most of the time i play black ops 2 and payday so thats when it reaches those temp. when its idle/not playing games its at about 30 degrees celsius.
i overclocked it to:
Core Clock:815 MHZ
Shader Clock: 1630MHZ
Memory Clock: 815MHZ
and the fan is running at 80% when im playing games. but that doesn't seem to cool it down. usually it runs at about 30% when im not playing.

Usually the gpu can go up to 85'c on nvidias, so 47 is totally fine.

Where are you measuring your temperature?

Yeah 47 is really low. How did you break your last pc by overclocking?

im using MSI Afterburner to overclock the GPU and monitor the temperature. i overclocked my last pc a bit too much. i done this when i was 11 years old and the thing fried or something.

You should be fine then, thats really low temp. Worst case you fry the graphics card, which to be fair, isnt a very good card anyway so you could replace it for not much money.

See here:

Max GPU temperature is 98'c

I would keep it below 85.
