how much money are you willing to use for upgrades? if enough you could up the GPU or add a SSD but i recommend a CPU cooler for the CPU for Liquid Cooling try the h100i and for Air Cooling use the Noctua nh-d14

Sorry did not mean to post this topic twice. New to the website.

I have no definite budget really probably around 1000-1500 $

don't know what monitor you have.

but this looks fine. I'd add a cpu cooler if you plan to do any overclocking, a hyper evo 212 is fine.

If your monitor is 1080p the 660ti is enough... overpriced but enough. usually i suggest people limited to 1080p 60hz to stick to the 660 or 7870... better value and those are definitely good enough.

What resolution is your current monitor? Build looks pretty good. Only thing would be more GPU depending on your monitor's resolution, what's the minimum fps you want, and how much eye candy do you want to turn on.

Also need a CPU cooler since you got a K processor and Z77 mobo for overclocking.

Haven't got one yet was looking to get

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7059353&sku=A466-2412&SRCCODE=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc_o=-ddCjC1bELltzywCjC-d2CjCdwwp&AffiliateID=iFudSkud_Rc-YkBnNqjtqJ7IWwX4SbpsBQ

1000-1500 $ is only the budget for the parts I listed

Monitor looks nice and the 660ti would work well. However, if you have the budget another $100 gets you a brand spankin new 770. See the cover story on this site for the sweetness. It would serve you well for quite a while.

Sorry for Newb question but what would Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($124.99 @ NCIX US) do extra for me?

that's a fine monitor. the 660ti will max most of what you play on it. if you can get a 7950 for less i'd look that way... that game bundle really helps pay for that card.

you use the ssd for boot and load times, you put your OS on the SSD this will allow your PC to boot most likely in 10-15 Seconds compared to the 25+. Also you put your High Use applications on it and Games that your play a lot. I use my SSD for my OS, Sony Vegas 12, Cinema 4D, and some of my games. You dont really need one its just a preference

Any suggestions on best site to find the best bundles on?

I found this good bundle http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1291151

Also if I got the 770 or 770 ti would that monitor work?

If you can I'd definitely recommend an SSD. I'll never boot without one again! But, I hate loading screens so it's a personal preference.

Another wrinkle is Haswell. When are you buying? Haswell officially be launched and benches released on Saturday. Unless you are getting a good sale on the Z77/3570, might wait a couple of weeks for Z87/4670K.

I'm more serious about my framerate though becasue I play FPS a lot. Does that matter if I chose to upgrade to the GTX 770 instead of somthing else

the 770 will get you good framerates and will be better than the 680. and from your current build you will be good, your psu is enough, your cpu and mobo can handle it so i think a 770 would do ok

the monitor you're looking at is capped at 74hz... which means you're capped at 74fps max. any gpu power that delivers more fps will be wasted unless you play with vsync.

The 660ti or 7950 will both hit 74fps at 1080p easily.

So I should I get a better monitor or will that be good for someone who is not trying to spend too much? What would you reccommend? I thought 60 fps was pretty decent

depending on the resolution and game, a 660ti on Bf3 will be around 50fps

you can have any game run higher than 74 if you have the tv/gpu for it, you could get a 690 and a 120Hz and use vsync and cap at 120 smooth fps
