What happened to caching SSD drives?

I'm typically a Linux user and have become very fond of facebook's Flashcache software. It allows me to use, for example, a 64GB SSD and a 2TB spindle together. The SSD becomes write-back cache. Performance value here great.

I'm looking for a similar solution for Windows machines. My initial searches lead me to Intel RST (I'm a builder and only have AMD chipsets) so that one is out. I also came across Dataplex software but that only works with certain SSD's; most of which seem to be end-of-life.

Is anyone using anything like this on the windows side? Is there something new I don't know about?

There is a windows ssd caching software that works also on AMD
and on any SSD device. Because it is hardware independent.
It´s name is VeloSSD.
( I forgot to say: its bootable. )
