Hard drive formatted to FAT32 with MAC.

Hey,

My girlfriend bought a 500gb external hard drive to use. She formatted it to fat32 using her mac. When I try to plug the hard drive into my PC(windows 7). It doesn't pick up anything at all.

She has too much on the hard drive to back up on her mac and the mac itself is dreadfully slow and outdated, so I was hoping I could back up the hard drive with my PC.

Is there anyway I can access it through my PC without formatting it and loosing all the data?

Do you have another computer you could connect this drive to for the purpose of checking to see if the problem exists on another computer as well? I only suggest that because this is odd as you should be able to read and copy the files since it was formatted as FAT32. Does the drive show up in disk management.
