Flactuating GPU usage 550ti

Whenever i play games i have msi afterburner open therefore i can track my GPU and whenever i play any game (especially in ARMA 2) my GPU usage keeps fluctuating randomly eg: 40%, 80%, 60%, 30%, and it all happens each second which really makes the game unplayable, please help.

FX-8320 - CPU
GTX 550ti - GPU
550W -PSU
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD 760G AM3+ -motherboard
4gb of ram

Is it specifically happening with ARMA 2? though you mentioned in every game. What about when surfing net or with other programs/software's?

Do a test with PRIME95, or similar program, see the results.

Ok tried to test some other games and it seems it only does it when the game is GPU intensive (BF3) for example when the usage should be 80%-90% it starts to drop and then fluctuates a lot but when i play a less intensive game (CS:S) it doesn't do it, ill try to get an image of the MSI afterburner GPU usage graph.

Ps: it doens't happen when surfing the net i also tried MSI Kombustor to stress test it and it gave me a steady 90% usage with no drops.

Now by no means ARMA II is a GPU intensive game. See here : http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI/Requirements/arma-ii-operation-arrowhead/10994?p=a

BF 3 is a more CPU and GPU intensive. I think your GPU is faulty. Can you replace it to see the results. Or can you RMA it ?

P.S. I have played ARMA II with GT 240 without any problem, that's why I am telling you.

it happened with me too.just reset the clocks of ur gfx.nerds set clocks at stable state coz they have some reason n we change it to knw those reasons .if u r so desperate to overclock ur gfx den search max. stable clockrates suported for ur gfx.worked for me.its like 1050mhz.double check it though

Hey, my graphics card is not overclocked i just use MSI afterburner to look at the stats on the side such as temp, gpu usage, fan speed, etc.

well then try reinstalling msi if this doesnt work uninstall msi instead use pc meter or coretemp.and if still problem persists i think its the game's bug.i knw no more than these steps.whats in trying tough and also see if der are some updates for arma 2 chances if they would fix it.

I have re-installed drivers, did a roll back, re-installed msi, tested other games, etc, and nothing works. earlier I noticed my pc was not using the full power of the gfx card, instead of being at 90% usage for best performance it was at 60%-70% therefore it was reducing my frame rate

As I said earlier if you suspect your GPU then replace it or RMA it.
