Would a Quad core 3.0 Ghz cpu bottleneck the radeon hd 7850?

The cpu is a AMD Athlon II X4 651K Llano.

Yeah, you could have some mild bottlenecking, I don't think major bottlenecking but probably have some.

Do you have the stock CPU cooler, or a aftermarket one? Because that is a 'K" chip you should be able to overclock it to around 4GHZ and help give your CPU more power for gaming. Could remove your bottleneck.

Yes, I have an aftermarket cooler master heatsink. Not sure what its called though.

Okay, download OCCT, its a Over Clock Checking Tool. With it you can test your system to make sure you arent getting it too hot.

Restart your PC and go to your BIOS, in there you should have options to overclock your CPU. Don't overclock to 4.0 GHz at first, start with like 3.4 and then boot into windows, run OCCT (for like 5-10min) and check to see if temps rise over 80C, if they do, then clock back to 3.0 GHz. If temps are good, then restart your PC and OC to 3.8 Ghz, boot into windows and run OCCT again to see what your temps are. Just don't go over 80C or if your computer tends to crash then reduce the overclock. I read online that people have clocked that CPU to 3.5 no problem.
