GPU/CPU Life Cycle

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of building my own rig soon and I was just curious what time of year the new generations of graphics cards and processors usually come about. Aslo, is it better to buy the older GPU/CPUs at a discounted price right when the new ones come out or just buy the newer ones and get longer use out of them.

The new Nvidia Gpu's are coming out now (GTX 700 series). The new Intel CPU's are also coming out soon (Intel Haswell). They don't really have a life cycle but you should be fine for 2 years. If I was you, I would wait until the new CPU's and GPU's come out and then buy the previous generation.
