skyrim random fps drops

ive played skyrim on my rig for around a week and got a steady 70 fps on ultra but now the fps randomly dropps from 70 to 30 then 20 and stays that way until i restart
my specs are i5 3470, EVGA gtx 660 2gb, crucial ballistix sport 4x4gb, WD black 1tb 7200rpm. and an Ultra LSP 750w

Can you install MSI Afterburner and monitor the GPU clocks, usage and temps and see what is happening when it drops?

i have an EVGA card

It doesn't matter, MSI Afterburner does not require you to have an MSI card, but EVGA Precision X can do the same thing.
