2 routers 1 modem

Hi,

I only have one modem, and from that modem I go to a router, where the router internal port 1 is connected to another router that is upstairs. How does this work? I noticed it did work before, but ports blocking and forwarding? How do such things work?

I'm guessing you plan to make your second router as an AP or switch. All configurations should be handled by your primary router.
