Dual Screen Question

I have an acer 5720 and i would like to dual screen it. I have and old computer looks something like this http://tinyurl.com/k9ay6c6 (Don't read the info, just look at the question (my computer isn't the same exact model)). It has a vga, the end is connected to the pc, the other end is connected to the monitor (you can't take the cable off, only the other end (the one with the vga chord end)). I'm pretty sure it's window xp. Will this work? Please answer asap.

You're asking if you can use your laptop screen and that monitor at the same time in a dual screen mode?

Yes, you can. Simple unplug the monitor from the old computer and plug it into your laptop's VGA port.
