I was playing a video game with one of my friends online and the screen froze and then refreshed. It then came up with display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered. I have updated it to the latest driver but still nothing.

My graphics card is: Intel HD Graphics 4000, up to 1760 MB Dynamc Video Memory.

Help would be appreciated.

That doesn't need to be updated. It is just that your integrated GPU was under too much load and stopped responding.
If you are into gaming you should invest in a cheaper video card.

Normally not responding errors are solved with restarting the system and if it is too hot, leaving it off for about 30 minutes to cool things down.
Those errors are usually encountered when GPU is under load for prolonged period of time and has gotten pretty hot.

Thank you for your reply I was confused why this would happen so suddenly considering I have had this PC for at least half a year now. I have left the system to cool down for a few hours before but that made no change.

I will try your other suggestions to see if they will work.
