How to display Avatar?

I have had the same Avatar for a year, but then tried changing it and ran into problems. I keep getting message (in red) about

Files over 100px wide not allowed.
Files over 100px high not allowed.

What does this mean? I have posted before with no problems.

Your avatar maximum size has to be less than 100 pixels by 100 pixels, and not too large in terms of file size either. You can use any photo editing program to reduce the size of your avatar by resizing it, or re-saving it as a compressed jpeg.
