so my HD5970 seems to have been taken down by the 2012-2013 games.
Cant even run them at 60 solid fps.
I´m thinking of buying a new GPU, but i would like some advise.
As i only want games to run smooth, solid 60fps (i dont care about graphics) i made a research and the GTX780 and the upcoming HD8970 are the by far the best options. I dont want to have to change this for 3 or 4 years. I dont care if i have to play everygame at low. All i want its 60 solid fps and 1920x1080 single monitor.
Shall i go for the GTX780 o wait for the HD8970 to come out??
The HD5970 performance was/is terrible overall. Im really dissapointed with AMD, but i also hear that the HD8970 will be pairing the GTX Titan who outplays the 780
All opinions are welcome, and gaming experiencies too.
Thanks!!

I believe that you would be beter off with 2 X GTX 770's in SLI than the GTX 780, and this solution is also cheaper than a single GTX 780. But if you are set upon a single card solution the GTX 780 is the top of the market for gaming right now. The alternatives of dual GPUs on a single PCB would be the GTX 690 or the AMD 7990.

thanks for your opinion!!
yes as an ex-AMD dual-GPU card all i can say its TERRIBLE. AMD has the worts drivers, i think i ve never could use the HD5970 at is his true power due to AMD drivers.
A dual Gtx770 would be the best price-performance but im running a 750W PSU , so there it goes the price advantage.
Thanks again for replying!

i think im going for the gtx780. Im gonna pair it with and old i7920 so the SLI it´s not an option, but yes you are right that would be the best buy for high-end fps.
