Is the fx 6300 worth the $20 over the fx 4300?

Hello

I am upgrading my system soon and i wanted to know if i should go with a fx 4300 or a fx 6300. The price difference between the two is $20 and o wanted to know which one to go with. The most intensive thing done will be playing games such as BF3, BF4 (when it's released), GTA 4, and Far Cry 3. The main reason for the upgrade is because my current Pentium G850 is sort of bottlenecking my performance in these games because they are more CPU intensive. So when upgrading should i pay $20 extra for a 6300 or go with a 4300?
My specs other than cpu and Mobo:
Cx 430
EVGA GTX-560 super clocked
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB
8 GB Kingston Hyper X Blue

What is your current motherboard? If it is capable, it would make more sense to just upgrade to an i5 2500k or 3570k.

Yes i wanted to go for an intel but my parents need their computer upgraded too. So i wanted to put my pentium and the cheap asrock mobo in their computer and get a quad or hexacore cpu in to the gaming one. So this would be an upgrade for two computer for the price of one.

Ah OK. Yea I would go with the FX 6300. Games are becoming more multithreaded so it is a good idea to get a 6 core over a 4 in AMD if you can afford to. That motherboard should be fine for a budget upgrade.

Also is the fx 4300 good at games? I mean is it a significant difference fro the 4300 to the 6300. And im going to college in 2 years so would getting the 4300 and keeping it for 2 years be enough? I will be getting a whole new build when in college becuas i am saving up currently.

I want to know if i have to do a bios update on a mobo to make piledriver work because i dont have another am3 cpu. I was thinking about the asrock because its cheaper and i am on a budget
