Hello guys. Kinda of noobie here when it comes to parts and just builds in general, but I've done quite a bit of research and I am truly excited to start this project. I have been wanting to build a PC for the longest time now but because of school, work, etc..haven't been able to do so. So for the first time in a few years, I have the whole summer to dedicate to this project:

Approximate Purchase Date: In the next month or so.

Budget Range: 1500-2000 USD. Don't mind going a little bit higher if worth it.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Mostly Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, any other better ones out there?

Location: Union City, NJ (10mins to NYC). Will be taking PC to school in Baltimore.

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Additional Comments: Not very picky when it comes noise. I'm in it more for the performance.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: After years of enjoying consoles, I think I'm ready to venture into PC gaming. Plus with all the bad rumors circulating on the upcoming consoles, I think it's time to do so.

I have been on some websites that let you pick parts and have come up with a few builds but not really sure about them. What do you guys think would be the best build for my budget and preferences?

----Thanks, Entropy

It mostly has to do with digital rights management (same thing that plagued EA's recent launch of Sim City 4). The hardware is getting good remarks but the graphics will never top PCs.

Here you go:

You can always try a mini-itx build. Since you say you'll be moving the pc to school, I thought you would want something more easily transportable.
