Hello Toms Hardware:) I'm actually been researching hardware to build my first gaming rig. I've waited for the new haswell 4770k, I know many people are going to say that there's no point in getting the i7 because games don't use hyper threading. But there's been tests where the i7 has a slight advantage over the i5. Besides I wont only be gaming. As far as the MOBO, I went with a semi high end new x87 board that would support the new CPU.

I'm really in a tough spot in regards to the CPU cooler. I don't want to go with a custom water loop, so that leaves me with either a closed water cooler or a aftermarket heat sink. The only cons I hear about with heat sinks are noise. But that's not rally a huge deal for me. I'm only worried about leakage with the closed loop. So my top picks would be-

In regards to the heat sink, I have no idea if it will fit in the 600t. I really doubt I will. So that's another con :/

If I go water cooling, ill be going with corsair dominator RAM

Just a few questions if you don't mind:

1) What is your budget?
2) Is there anything that you don't need, such as mouse, keyboard, monitor, OS?
3) Are you sure you want Haswell? They don't OC very well from what I've heard.
4) Do you need a lot of storage space for editing, etc.?
5) What is it exactly that you would be doing on this build?
6) Do you need a Sound Card and/or a Wireless Adapter?
7) Anything else I should know about when picking parts for your build?

My budget is around $5000
I do need everything, im quite litteraly building a new rig, monitor, mouse, keyboard, everything.
In contrary, i hear haswell has very nice OC, besides im not a huge pro with OC, im new at this so i wont be hardcore with games.
No, i dont do video editing, i just want enough space for my games, programs, and for fast boot speeds.
Id be mainly gaming with this build. web surfing, etc
I do want a sound card. And for a wireless adapter, i havent thought about it, but id like it.
And my original plan was to play on 3 montor setup, but heard it wasnt as thrilling as it seems, and not very useful. More of an immersal expirience. So i went with a single 27"/ Beautiful colors, dont really need responce time as i dont play FPS games.

Ok then! Thank you for answering the questions!

The last part that you stated is "So i went with a single 27." Do you need/want a long wide monitor? Or do you already have that monitor? I saw that you said that you need a monitor, but I just want to clarify. :)

No i don't have a monitor, i need one. And to be honest, i would like a large wide monitor. Which is why i'm torn between that single 27", Or 3 24" :) While still maintainng high FPS

I gotcha. The only reason why I would go with 24", is because it is much cheaper and you get better performance than the 27". But that is for gaming. There are super wide monitors but they go for a lot of money. If I were you I would get a triple, or at least dual monitors. I know that you didn't want them, but to be honest, I think they do give a cool atmosphere to be in. ;)

Wow.. everything looks really good. But one last thing, are 3 24" displays really give me a real FPS hit :/ i don't know if i want to sacrifice that over just one 27" you get me?
