Comcast box to Pc sound card.

Hello,
I dont know if this is the right place but im having alot of trouble hooking up my comcast box Rng110 to my Sound card Sound blaster recon3d fata1ity. i tried messing with all the settings, the hidden menu on the comcast box and still cant get anything coming through it. i have the box hooked up to my tv through a hdmi cable and the optical out from the box to my optical in on the sound card. Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't know that cable box but on most of them when you use the HDMI output it will put the audio on that connection. Try to see if you get sound with the HDMI cable unplugged from the box. Also on the audio menu of the box try all the settings as it may not be clear what each actually does. I would also try a surround receiver just to make sure where the problem is.

i just tried it and still nothing. im not sure what else to do.
