BSOD after driver install and reboot. First Build.

Hi, I have a problem with my XFX R7870 Ghz edition double d. I have installed windows 7 and my mobo drivers fine but after installing the drivers for my 7870 it asks for a reboot and I get the BSOD at which then I have to restart at the last time my computer booted okay so I am back to square 1. I have tried updating the bios, downloading drivers from amd website and tried older ones. I downloaded a program which deletes all old drivers and then I tried again but no success.

Specs:
Cpu: Fx 6300 with aftermarket cooler
Mobo: Asrock 970 extreme3
Ram: 8gb 1600mhz kingston blu
Hdd: toshiba 1tb
Psu: corsair CX600
Gpu: XFX R7870 Ghz edition double d

Would really appreciate any help.

Try the card in a different system and go through the same procedure, if it doesn't work, then you know its the card. If it does, then you know its something else in your system.

The thing is I don't have another system, my household is full of laptop users :/.

When you say you updated the BIOS, do you mean for the motherboard?

Yeah, the bios was only one day older than the newest one available but I updated it anyway.

Just because sometimes that fixes it, and if you had of updated the BIOS on the card that would have been bad.

Only thing you can do since you don't have a spare system is to return the card and see if it works when they test it.
