Lowered FPS after increasing PSU.

Recently my computer stopped working and the problem was diagnosed as an issue with the PSU(500W). I purchased a new PSU(800W) and installed it into my system, everything is working fine now but I am experiencing lowered FPS in games, such as Battlefield 3. Does anyone know what this could be?

Computer Specs:
Processor : Intel Core i7 2600k @ 3.4Ghz
OS : Windows 7 64 bit
Graphics Card : eVGA GeForce GTX 660 SC
Random Access Memory: 16GB
Hard Drive : 2TB

What PSU did you get a decent 800W or a cheap 300W one with a 800W sticker on. I have made the mistake myself. What was wrong with the old PSU?

I believe I have found the solution to the problem. I had not noticed that some of the cable netting was catching on the fan located above my heat sink. I think this may have been causing my system to automatically reduce performance to avoid any harm to my PC. Thanks for your help, though!
