Today, Tom's Hardware is proud to roll out the new forum home page for members! The updated design takes into account the numerous requests for improved tracking abilities and a streamlined, very customizable view. You can now set which categories you visit most frequently, and access each of them to review updated threads with a simple mouseover.

My Top Categories

Up at the top, you'll notice a series of icons displayed that indicate your favorite forum categories. You can access All Forum Threads here as well by clicking on "See All Threads". To add a new icon and category to your top categories, just click on the little star next to the category name below. Doing so adds the category to the above, and mousing over will now show you the most recent updates in that particular category.

Once you have all the categories you prefer to follow, collapse the category listing for a tighter, more compact display. To remove a category, simply click the little yellow star once more, and the category will be removed from your Top Categories listing.

My Timeline

Below your favorite categories you'll see the Timeline feature, also previously referred to as the Follow feature. Here you can set what tags you'd like to track for quick and easy review of articles, threads, picture stories and news items for things that concern you most. Click "Manage your tags" to set up which tags you follow, and then you can filter on those below by using the Refine options. You can then filter if you like by article, article comment, topic, answer, solved topic and reply (new comment) as well as searching.

Other Items

To the right, you'll see a host of options showing you your Best Answer count, badges progress, billboards, tracked threads and help area. You can use these options for quick access to frequently trafficked areas and to check your progress.

We realize the transition to the new member home page will take a little getting used to, but once you've gotten the hang of it, you'll find it considerably more efficient than the previous iteration. Take a few minutes today to customize your Tom's forum member home page, and you'll find browsing our forums picks up speed. :)
