I don't know how much help I will be as I haven't personally used a xfire or SLi setup but I'll try nonetheless.

Have you tried reseating the cards? Does this happen if you reverse the order of the cards? (if say the bottom one doesn't get a clock rate for whatever reason is it still the bottom on when you swap them?)

Is this your motherboard? (Make ABSOLUTELY sure this is the EXACT mobo you have otherwise you WILL have a very expensive doorstop) If so I would check what bios you have as there are quite a few pcie improvements.

Edit: Oh just saw your bios version number was listed, you are up to date...

Tyvm for your reply, in any attempt to assist me is very appreciated, yes i have tried re seating both graphics cards same result.

My motherboard is an MSI Z77A-G45 http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-G45.html

Ah yeah your bios is up to date, Hmmm running say furmark with crossfire enabled and disabled do you see a gain in FPS and do your gpus get adequate load?

Google "furmark" to get the download. Its a benchmarking/stability tester application. I use it all the time and like it. Crossfire does suck but it shouldn't be that bad
