Should I pull the trigger on an Asus 660?

I have a two-year-old msi twin ii frozr 2gb 560 ti in my 650w, i5 2500k gaming rig. For the current price I can get it for (~$170), is that a great deal and should I pull the trigger on it to replace my current card?

If I do replace my current card with this new card, where could I sell the msi twin frozr ii?

Thanks!

Great deal? Probably not really, seeing as I can find a GTX 660 for 179$.

I think if you're not experiencing a need to upgrade, then maybe you shouldn't bother.

As in, do you NEED the 660? Are games going below whatever FPS threshold you deem

acceptable?

Games are running below 30FPS for certain titles like Metro 2033 with PhysX on, for example.

I'm saying that I can get the gtx660 for $160-ish, is that not a good deal?

If I were to wait to see a real marked difference between my current card (560 TI) and my future GPU, what card should I wait to buy?

Thanks :)

Thanks for the replies people - It seems like going three tiers up would be the only logical option as the 660 would already be a little bit less than middle of the pack by the end of the year as far as GPUs go. The msi twin frozr ii 560ti that I have is one of the best, if not the best in my opinion, cards in that grouping and almost anything except that damned metro 2033 with physx runs like a dream and is smooth as silk.

Any other opinions out there on when, if ever, the price on the 770s will drop sometime this year or early next year? I'm thinking, that if I did upgrade that many generations, I would have to get a new mobo and PSU - I have an asrock p67 and i5-2500k and 650xfx psu in there now as well as 8gb of vengence ddr5 ram. Thoughts?

Much appreciated everyone - I love the community on tom's, I'd probably be washed up with needle marks on my arms in Cabo without y'all.... :p

I was just going to say that.

And OP, you're fine. You have a superb CPU and the ideal amount of RAM.

I think you mean DDR3 RAM too. It's GPUs which have GDDR5 RAM.
