Is the Xeon E3-1230 v2 The Processor For Me?

I have been wanting to upgrade my computer for a long time now, and I have a rough idea for everything like the graphics card, storage and so on. But I have no idea as to what processor I should get.

My price range is <£200 so I thought that the E3-1230 v2 was the best for me but I'm not all that sure. That's why I am here to get your thoughts. So when I'm on my computer I like to game a lot but that's not all I do. I also record most of my games, I do a lot of photo and video editing and from time to time 3D rendering. I also like to keep my PC on a lot sometimes it stays on for over 48 hours.

So I don't know if I should get an i5 or an E3-1230 v2, what do you think?

  1. No, stick with an i5-4670K or an i7-4770K. No reason to get a Xeon if scalable applications or server operating system software isn't going to be used.
