Ridiculous low fps with my mobo

I'm getting 30 - 40 fps on games such metro last light, crysis 3, etc when I play on high settings. Is that normal?

My mobo: Asus Sabertooth x58, Asus HD 7970 GHZ, I 7 950, Chaintech Apogee GT 1866MHZ 6GB Ram. Games are played from a seagate 500GB Sata 3 7200rpm 32mb.

I'm thinking it's maybe may cpu? It's bottlenecking my GPU?
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
