hi marco, thanks for ur speedy reply. could i ask? do i not need a graphics card with a bit of "ump", in it. also, the processors that i got for my kids pcs wer i5 sandy bridge. iwas told that these wer the "dogs". is the processor u recommended the same. there seems to be that many variations. just 1 last thing. i also have a new external 2tb drive, so would i need a 1tb internal drive?

The i5-4xxx are haswell which is the follower of sandy bridge. Its overall slightly better. The integrated gpu of the i5 should be enough for you.

You can use the external hdd. But i would disassemble the chassis of it and plug it as a internal one in the pc, because running the os through usb connection may cause issues.
