I've been petitioned to build a computer for my uncle. They do a lot of video editing through pinnacle 15 and use a bunch of different add-ons for it. They don't do any gaming. So all the computer is going to be used for is video editing and some web surfing. Trying to build a comp that will last them a few years even if they move away from pinnacle 15. So which CPU do I go with?
The 3 cpus I'm looking at are the xeon E3-1245V3, The i7 3770, and the amd 8350. The xeon and the i7 are basically the same price, and I've heard that xeon is actually better with video editing stuff but I really don't know, I've never even looked at xeons before. the 8350 is obviously cheaper, but would it be able to keep up with the intel processors? Would a step up to haswell be worth it? Also am open to other ideas on processors.
Here are the other proposed specs for the comp.
Nvidia GTX770
16 gb gskill Ares series
128 gb SSD
1TB WD black (they have ~6 TB of external storage space that will be used through USB 3.0)
~850w PSU
These are rough specs and are definitely subject to change. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks
Jeremy
