So, it´s time for a new graphics card. And I am pretty sure it´s going to be a GTX780.
I already tried one of the standard GTX780 but I returned it because it had a very annoying high pitch noise. Not sure if it was coil-whine or something else. But anyway, I decided to go for a custom GTX780 instead.
And right now I got my eyes on two of them and am really torn between those two.
The first one is the EVGA GTX780 Superclocked ACX and the second one is the Gigabyte GTX780 Windforce 3x OC.
Judging by the few reviews that are out there, the EVGA is faster (no surprise there), better OC-able and more quiet under load. And slightly cooler, too. Oh yeah, and it can even beat the Titan when overclocked.
The Gigabyte on the other hand is more quiet in idle.
When I first laid my eyes on those two, the Gigabyte was about 30€ more expensive than the EVGA. So, this was a no-brainer.
But right now the Gigabyte became actually almost 70€ cheaper than the EVGA.
Both are announced to be available at the beginning of the next week. And now I am really torn between those two.
I mean 70€ price difference is quite something but then again, being able to beat the Titan (maybe) is something, too.
What are your thoughts on either of them?
Also, is there anything else I missed? Or something special regarding each card/company?
Such a shame that the Asus GTX780 DCU2 (3?) might take some more time...and might end up being even more expensive.
