I have a self build computer with the following specs:
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
Gigabyte GTX 680 GPU
i7 3930k OC'd to 4,6 GHz (H80 cooler)
Corsair GT SSD Force
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600 MHz RAM
Corsair AX 850W PSU

A copule of months ago I installed W8 on my SSD, but I had some problems with unstability and stuff, so I formatted the SSD again. And because I only have CD for Windows 7 (and W8 digital copy), I had to install W7 again. And after that I have experienced some great problems with my system.

Every time I play a game (doesn't matter which one. I've tried BF3, BO2, Crysis 3, FIFA 13, DayZ, Minecraft), I'm only able to play about 15-30 minutes before the whole system crashes. The screen freezes on the last frame ingame, and the sound also get kinda stuck. Often the light on my keyboard gets turned off. Then I have to reset the computer, and get an error on boot saying that "Overclocking failed".

Now, I've tried turning all OC settings off, running the system on all standard settings, as well as playing the games with lower graphics settings. That doesn't help. I've also checked the tempreatures of the CPU while playing (both with OC and stock), and it never goes over 75-80 degrees on the highest. So it cannot be a tempreature problem. I've tried reinstalling the games, reinstalling Windows (again), playing the games on a different SSD than what my OS is on, nothing seems to be working.

Does anyone have a clue?

What happens if you run Prime95 torture tests for several hours? Any errors when you run Memtest86+ overnight?

I haven't run Prime95 for more than 1-2 hours at the most. I could try leaving it on tonight and see what happenes.

The main reason to run Prime95 is to make sure the issue is not with the processor or motherboard (within limits). I highly recommend you run a GPU stress test like Furmark for at least one hour (which is longer than it takes your system to freeze while playing a game). If the system freezes then you'll know the issue either is a defective GPU or PSU (not very likely with a Corsair AX 850W). If the GPU stress test is successful, you should run Memtest86+ overnight and there should be no errors.
