Please recommend what to upgrade on my build

My current setup is the following
Sapphire HD 6950 2GB
AMD phenom II x4 940 3.0ghz (quad)
8gb ddr2 ram
MSI 790XT-G45
corsair TX750 watt power supply
80gb ssd


I would like to be able to play games like arma 3 and final fantasy xiv at full settings with a high fps rate.

Two things an hopefully keep it on the cheap. One: Move up to a Phenom II 975 BE higher if there is one ( I think there may be a 980 ) and two move up to a 7xxx Video card. Sometimes you don't need to make a lot of changes just a couple of upgrades will do it and make a difference.
