I built a computer last year with this mobo (ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution) Cpu is an i7. gpu is nvidia gtx 560(ti). my HDD is old but still runs fine. im wanting to add an ssd. but all i really see out there (newegg) is sata III ssd's. Can i use that? Reason i ask is beacause the manuel only says sata slots. not what kind they are. i also will upgrade my GPU to the new nvidia 700 series. any and all suggestions towards anything would be helpful. Thanks

You have SATA II (3Gb/s) ports. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6T6_WS_Revolution/#sp...

SATA II (3Gb/s) means 384 mb/s throughput. Yes there are SSDs that can fully saturate a SATA II connection on sequential reads and writes. Will this limit your everyday use of that SSD? Not really.

It's not the top speed of an SSD that makes it so useful, it's the absence of mechanical parts (you're never waiting on a platter to spin up). If this really bothers you, you can buy a PCIe device that has internal SATAIII ports: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...

and plug your SSD into that card. The benefit is probably not worth the premium you would pay for the card.
