Hello I have a rough idea what I want to do but not sure if it will work and be of a better advantage over my current rig. Budget is clear but if a significant improved performance

Budget = £150-£180 + (sale money of HD 7770 for a better GPU)

Now = Asus HD 7770 1 GB GHz Edition PCI-E 3.0

2 Asus PB238Q23 inch screens. Note, Will be getting 1 more after I sort out the GPU stuff. (3 screens)
Asus P8Z77-V (PCI-E 3.0)
Intel Core i5 3570k Turbo OC’ed to 4.2Ghz
8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance 2x4GB
PSU 650W Corsair TX V
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Options/ideas:

Idea 1

Crossfire = Asus HD 7770 1 GB GHz Edition + Asus HD 7770 1GB GHz Edition = 2gb. (Buy another one the same)

3 Asus PB238Q 23 inch screens. mini displayport to displayport with eyefinity 3x1 landscape Display Group

Budget = Whatever another 7770 costs (don’t need to worry)

Idea 2

Sell Asus HD 7770 1 GB GHz Edition and buy 2/3GB GPU for 3 screens eyefinity

Single GPU = HD ???? 2/3 GB with 3 to 4 mini display ports or 2 mini display ports and 1 DVI

3 Asus PB238Q 23 inch screens. mini displayport to displayport with eyefinity 3x1 landscape Display Group

Budget = £150-£180+sale money of HD 7770

My Questions
Would 2 screens from 2 mini DP’s and 1 from DVI work well with eyefinity?
Would there be any issues with gaming and video?
I have a 650W PSU, will there be plenty of power to run Crossfire 2x HD 7770?
Have you got better ideas that will work effectively, if so what?

(Places I will buy from, Amazon, DinoPC, ebay, ebuyer+others that have good rep)

What do I want to play? (in highest graphic settings I can do)
Watch Dogs
Battlefield 3+4 eyefinity
ARMA 2 highest settings (I know its buggy even with high end hardware)
ARMA 3
Other new games 2014 onwards

What do I do regularly on it now?
Design: print, web, interactive, sound, video, adobe CS6 64bit programs, web development
Gaming: GW2, ARMA 2 + Dayz, Battlefield 3 (single screen), lots of games on Steam

So over all I am looking for an improvement for gaming plus a 3x1 eyefinity setup

Thanks in advance for comments and idea.

No

Would not really recommend crossfire 1gb 7770s. It does not stack (you have 1gb, not 2gb with 2 cards) I would recommend at least a 7850 or 7870, though my actual recommendation would be a 7950. More specifically the Sapphire Vapor-X 3gb Radeon HD 7950, though this only has 1 displayport rather than 2 minis

Those titles should play well with the 7950, but don't expect ultra settings with 3 monitors, you'd need crossfire for that

Basically, Radeon HD 7950
Pros:
1. big improvement over current card
2. able to handle all games listed with good settings on a single screen

Cons:
1. not going to get high FPS on high settings in eyefinity without another
2. might be borderline on the budget depending on how much you get for 7770

I don't know that I would recommend any less than the 7950 for an eyefinity setup. The memory size and bandwidth are critical for decent display across 3 screens.

Idea 2. Crossfire still has nasty microstuttering.

7950, or wait for 3/4gb gtx 760 to see prices, you will want at least 3gb of vram in a triple monitor set up. Also 7950 prices could drop with the gtx 760 release to stay competitive, so they might go to $260-$270.

Ok so I will sell 7770 when the time comes.

I was looking at 7950s, Sapphire Vapor-X 3gb Radeon HD 7950 I would think about having but I need ether 2 dvi or 2 mini dp or 2 display ports + 1 other port not hdmi. xfx hd 7950 FX-795A-TDFC does this come close to the sapphire one?

Will 7950 stack (6GB)? Hope it does then I can buy another one next year or something.

well,if u can stretch ur budget that high then obviously go for a hd7950,it performs better than two hd7770's plus u would be free from microstutter which results performing worse than a single hd7770 sometimes.stick to the hd7950 but is would recommend u to wait till 25th and the gtx760 would be out and whose performance would be similar or slightly better than the hd7950 and would cost much less like 229$
