Why can't I over-clock my i5-4670K?

I have just installed the MSI Z87 G45 Gaming Motherboard, with the i5-4670K CPU. There is no option to increase the CPU multiplier in the BIOS settings. I have seen a couple of YouTube videos where the over-clock has been done, using the exact same components I have, and each time the over-clocker has increased the CPU Multiplier. On the hint on the right, when you highlight the CPU area in the BIOS, it says that this will be unlocked only if the CPU supports it? Am I missing or not doing something?

I cant even apply the XMP feature, I have 8Gb Corsair Vengeance 2133MHz RAM which supports XMP, in fact it seems that any adjustments I make at all cause the board to stop and ask me to load default values and start again.

I am totally baffled.

Any help will be gratefully received

Many thanks

Hi there, yes I do, Thermaltake 2.0 performer, I don't want to massively overclock, but to not be able to touch anything without the PC shutting down would be nice.

Thanks

Hi, yes it boots great, I tried 2 different settings, one at 4.4 which was good and the other at 4.6 which was also good. I set he RAM to 1866 and the volts at 1.40 and 2.20 respectfully. I am curious however, if I set the RAM to XMP mode the computer shuts down and says no.

Thanks

The new haswell i5's don't support xmp as far as memory controllers.go, unless.you get a new graphics card. Has to do with the igfx.
