I want to get a new graphics card for my laptop. i know very little about how computer's work so please explain in detail. thank you in advance. My current computer is a Compaq Presario cq61, it is still stock parts and everything, i would like to be able to play gta 4 or 5 if i wanted to with little to no lag. my top price would have to be $200 with a little flexibility. i am not going to be playing Skyrim on my pc, but i would like the ability to play crysis if i wanted. my laptop is 3 years old give or take half a year. again thank you for your help.

Dont try to upgrade graphics in laptops, alot of the time the gfx's, are soldered on... If you only have $200 and wanna do some sort of gaming, I would recommend just getting a xbox, or ps3, Unless you can get $400, then I will gladly help you make a gaming build for cheap!

thanks for your help. I guess i will start saving up for a new laptop instead. Do you recommend a custom build or a premade laptop?
Could you also include the basic specs. i dont need to have the best in the world but good enough to play assassins creed or something. thanks again.

Dude fuck laptops, Seriously they suck, In every aspect except portability, a desktop is better, Here is a build for $473 that will work just fine for maxing out, sims, cod, and even playing battlefield on low-med graphics, its also a micro-atx case, so you can move it around a little bit easier!
Apu:
AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz Socket FM2 (Video, and Cpu)
$130
Motherboard:
ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M FM2 AMD A75
$70
Ram:
8gb 2x4gb 1600 ripjaws
$68 (Combo with psu makes it) $58
Psu:
Cooler Master GX 450w
$55
Case:
SilverStone Precision series PS08W
$40
Ssd:
SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD120BW 2.5"
$100
Optical Drive:
Asus 24x
$20
Total: $473

It only has 120gb of storage, so try to buy a 1tb drive, or a external drive, for things like pictures, and games, like a seagate barracuda 1tb, or wd caviar blue 1tb, and another sata cable, it will give you soo much storage

if i am going to save money to buy a new computer i will probably save around $600 - $650. i want to make sure that im not going to regret not saving more and getting a better laptop or desktop. i will have to think about a desktop because i dont have any room for a desktop in my house.
