3770k overclocking 4.6ghz

im trying to overclock my 3770k to 4.6ghz im using a maximus v formula z77 motherboard and i was wondering what the stable voltage for it was. i tried at 1.34v but it seems to be unstable

Well, then you need to up the voltage. There is no universal stable voltage because every chip is different.

With the H100, I would not recommend to push past 1.4v. Unless you have a fantastic chip compared to most, temps will get too high above that voltage.

It's not just the temps. Too high of voltage is damaging as well. You don't really want to go over 1.4V regardless of temps.

What you want to overclock a i7!
If you are doing it you will need a water cooler

Yes. 4 fans in push/pull would be more effective.

thank you every1 you have all been very helpful but for now i think ill run 4.5ghz stable with 1.26v until i get better cooling

Frankly, you won't need to overclock any farther, unless you really want to or want to get high benchmark scores.
