cpu cooler fan not installed properly?

Hey guys so I built my first rig yesterday and found out that my cpu cooling fan (coolermaster evo 212) was installed horizontally with the fan facing downwards towards my gpu. I was wondering if the heatsink cooler fan was exhausting hot air onto my gpu or was it intaking hot air towards the top of my computer case.

Should I reinstall the cooler all over again and is my computer in danger of overheating?

I would say to reinstall it. It should be pointed towards the back of the case where the rear exhaust fan is.
