Hi All,

I am thinking to upgrade my graphics card from NVIDIA GT9400 (ASUS) to ATI Raedon 7750 1GB DDR5 (SAPPHIRE). Rest of the rig is:-

Core-2-Duo E7500 (2.93)
G41 Gigabyte MOBO
4GB DDR2 RAM
450W Zebronics PSU
Samsung 23" LED Monitor

I have read few posts and found that the card will work okay with my MOBO; please let me know your inputs.

I am little worried about the PSU - I think it should be sufficient for the card but not sure.

Thanks,
Rahul

Thanks for the reply; you are right, it is one of the best performing cards which do not require 6-pin cable.

Are you yourself using a similar setup; I just want to confirm if someone has already used a non-branded PSU with a similar rig.

Whatever PSU you have above 400W will power the card really good. This is the best card you can buy without 6pin.My friend has a similar rig and its ok.BUY IT

Could you please verify the brand of PSU your friend is using. I had a word with my local PC vendor and he is recommending a branded PSU like CM/Corsair - may be to make money.

I know a 450W branded PSU from CM/Corsair can support it easily. Zebronics is a cheap one and performs dearly in comparison; so I just want to sure.

Thanks a lot for your continuous support on this topic.

1 Euro = 80 Rupees (Approx.)

Also, lemme know your opinion - will a local brand (Zebronics) 450W PSU reliable enough to run this card?

well i'm even using a cheap 450watts psu than yours named as 'supercomp sep500' and also going to buy a sapphire radeon hd 7750 ....my rig is also the same like you have .intel core 2 duo e7500 2.93 ghz and 4gigs of ddr2 ram...and believe me its the best card we both can get ..i'm just ordering it .i'll also suggest you to order that card from flipkart for 6479 rs. which is a quite good deal ...i know zebronics brand , it makes very cheap psu but be assured i can bet that it will be supported ....this gpu can even be handled by a good 350-300watts psu .don't take tension ..,just buy this card ,fit it in your case ,install drivers and just start playing ...

Hey Guyz,

Thank you so much for your help. I bought the card from site (flipkart) which is working nicely.

I will likely move on to a branded PSU in some time - I liked your recommendation although, I think 450W would be enough as I am not planning to upgrade this system anymore. I am thinking of CM Thunder 450W for now:

Thanks,
Rahul

Hey, i am from India too, and the Zebronics 450W PSU is also actually pretty decent. The 7750 uses less than 75W in most cases, and you will not have any problems. I myself used my 6750 with a local 500W PSU for a year before moving to a corsair 600W.
So my advice, would be to save up more money and buy a 500W or 600W PSU in future, which will also support all you future upgrades if any.

However, if you really have decided to upgrade, then the Cooler Master 450W Thunder is a good choice as it is an 85% efficiency PSU. Meaning, at loads from 10 - 100%, the PSU will be able to make use of 85% of the available power.
