Hey, I'm building a gaming pc next week. And..I'm purchasing a 120GB SSD and 1TB HDD. I'm wondering if on the SSD I should just put Windows and a few games or should I also put the C:Drive in the SSD too? Or should I put the C:Drive on the HDD? I know C:Drive takes up a lot but I need something fast for it???

C:/ drive usually is where you install Windows on. So if you install Windows on the SSD, the SSD would be the C drive. Put Windows and games on the SSD and your personal data on the HDD (music, movies etc)

Thanks so much! But I have one question, won't all programs automatically go to the C:Drive?

Not if you select a different install location. It's usually best for programs to run off the C: drive. anyway, though. Just keep your most high-demand and frequently-used games on the SSD and keep the rest free what you accumulate over the life of the PC

If I change the target location so basically by keeping some programs away from the C Drive, will that negatively affect it in anyway or will it stay the same?

The programs/games on the HDD will start up slower and load times will take longer compared to SSD based programs/games. But thats where you come in, decide which programs will benefit from the extra speed and which wont (you can be sure that Skype wont for instance) and put them in the right place.

Remember to install Windows on the SSD without the second hard drive connected. You can install the HDD after you have installed Windows 7. This will prevent problems should the HDD fail as Windows will install some files on the HDD if it is connected during the installation of Windows 7.
