Are you using AMD Catalyst Control Center to control the fan? What kind of noise is it making? HD4850/4870's run very hot and should not be shutting your system down at 61C. Is it a reference cooler?

yeah I am using AMD catalyst to control fan,Its shutting down the system at 82C and my vga cable and connector both are not working after cleaning the system so I have ordered a new vga cable and connector and then will see what happen, while fan noise is now slowly becoming low.
I heard a lot this on every tech page that can we use toothpaste instead of thermal tape as both equal in its functions?

I have changed my vga connector four times and cable two times, they always stop working in some days,Is this due to heat?

No it isnt. make sure you have applied it correctly and that the heatsinks are both secured properly

Your card, if it is a 4850 or 4870 should not be shutting the system down, or even show pixelated screens at 82 degrees. I believe the max safe temp for those cards is over 100. Do you have the proper power connection to the card from the power supply?
I don't think we are going to be able to help you here, you need to get it serviced at a shop. Or maybe borrow a friends graphics card and see how it works in your system.

Today I visited a local tech center for repairing my card, and figured out that the ic unit of card was crashed(burned),so they said its hard to repair 4890 1gb because its isn't easily available and its warranty has even completed,so decided to replace the card(if repaired)with nvidia 560.
Can you please tell which one is good radeon 4890 1gb or nvidia 560 1 gb ?
