Bad fps, Please Help"

Hi there.
Recently i have been receiving really bad FPS.
it's been happening for 2 weeks now, and its stopping me from gaming.
My PC gets really hot whilst playing Arma 2, so i wondered if this was affecting it.
I need to find out if it's my CPU or Graphics card. so i can replace it.
Is there anything i can do to check ?
I'll give you a list of my specs.

ASRock 970 Extreme3

ASUS HD7850 Series

AMD FX(tm)-6200 Six-Core Processor, 3791 MHz

Check the airflow in the case, all fans working, what types of temps on CPU, mobo? Is it clean? many cases get filled with dust

The fan on the CPU is working, and also the two that are on the Graphics card.
The main fan on the front of my case, doesn't currently work .. I paid someone in a computer shop to put my pc together, and he said the main fan doesn't work, but it won't be a problem without it.. (which i ain't sure if i believe him)
I spray the inside of the computer and components with compressed air, (which he also recommended me to do) so i hope that isn't causing any problems too.

Generally the front fan pulls air into the box and circulates it so the CPU can pull it and send into the heat sink, the rear fan is used as an exhaust to blow hot air out, so may want to get a working front fan

Okay, I'll order a new case,
Is it possible that this has ruined any of the hardware?

Mobo,GPU & CPU temps are around 30c without a game running.
Whilst the game is running, Mobo reaches 40c, CPU 60c and GPU 35c
Is this normal ?
Also, could this problem be due to the HDD overheating ?
I'm really not good at computers , so your advice is taken gratefully!.

I have been told that the game i play, the engine to the game is strange and mostly uses CPU .
Apparently my CPU is abit outdated.
I have checked the chipset for it -
- Northbridge: AMD 970
- Southbridge: AMD SB950

I have tried looking online to find if i can upgrade to a better CPU, but i don't know what i'm looking for, and so on ..
Do you have any idea ?
Would be very grateful.

Could look to the 8120, 8320, 8150, 8350 - any would be a good upgrade
