Hi everyone, i currently purchased components for a gaming system all under ~$300 dollars, but talking to some friends, they told me i made a mistake due to components being out dated but i was on a serious budget, i think i did pretty well and look to run most games overclocking

CPU: intel quad Q9550 @ 2.83ghz which i plan to hit at 3.6ghz
MB: Intel BLKDP45SG DP45SG LG775
RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333mhz
HDD: 500GB toshiba @ 7200RPM
PSU: CX CORSAIR 500W
GPU: MSI 7850 1GB

running on win 7

i plan to run most games on high although at lower resolutions, i mainly play BF3, COD4, CS:GO and League of legends, last 3 are not so much demanding, i was just looking for some outside opinions before i start opening packages and unable to return items

Haha all that for under $300? That's a heck of a deal! The CPU is a bit old (2008) but it'll still handle modern games. I'm sure you can max out COD 4 CS:GO and League of Legends even at 1920x1080. BF3 is a bit more demanding but your system can still handle it at lower resolution no problem! Man that's a good deal xD

okay thanks, and yeah i got the processor/mobo/ram for $130 from library computer sale, the video card i bought off craigslist used for $120, the hard drive i bought for 30 a while ago from microcenter, and the power supply was given to me by a friend that upgraded, so all of it was close to 300 after tax, case i just grabbed something from the basement
